I have developed scripts and plug-ins over the course of time. I am very familiar with the original vectorscript (pascal based), and the more recent python and marionette scripting. In order to further my scripting ability for vectorworks I enrolled and completed a computer programming course with pennfoster edu. If I understand your job brief correctly. You are looking for a tool similar to the 'Select similar tool', however you would like the new tool to automatically select similar objects based on an initial object selection from within the drawing.
