hi, I am an industrial designer. I know what your are looking for, because I do same things to myself. let me explain from what I do. I DIY my own reprap 3D printers, have three of them, very familiar with nature of 3D printing. So when playing with 3D printer, I need alot of testing with Cura/simplify3D (which you know they are 3D printer slicing software) from my output work of solidworks. Therefore when it come into consideration on 3D modeling. I know what it should be correct to do for 3D printing. And you would see most of my 3D image/render on the portfolio is all created from solidworks when I worked on design.
