QoS enabled Handover in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks

Hi, The future mobile communication network is a set of different technologies and standards. Handoff access heterogeneous wireless network will become more frequently because of the smaller cells. It utilizes the link-usage-degree to decide whether a handoff occurs. There are three handover phases: Information collection, Handover Decision and Handover Execution phase. In the Information Collection phase, parameters that will trigger a handover will be continuously monitored, collected and compared against pre-defined threshold values. These may be the signal strength or the bit error rate of the current link. After gathering required information, the handover decision phase takes place. During this phase, the collected network parameters and application QoS requirements are compared. If the candidate satellite network could provide better QoS according to QoS requirements of ongoing applications provided by RSVP than current one, a handover will be initiated. Otherwise, a re-negotiation of QoS parameters may take place. Once the decision of a handover is made, handover is executed with Mobile IP. Advantages of the QoS are that it can provide for the essential heterogeneous network information to assist the fulfillment of network selection and fast handoff. As the same time, the handoff will be introduced to achieve multi-hop access so that to reduce handover delay and packet loss for real-time services. I need a proposal related to QoS enabled handoff with all the parameter specifications to be improved in this context from the point of view of implementation in matlab for GSM and WiMax networks.
