The project already runs on an ATmega328PU chip but I am not happy with its operation. I want to switch to ATmega32-16PU MCU to avoid the I/O expander hopping to eliminate some strange malfunctions. I would like a new SW to run on the ATmega32 or if it is possible modify the existing one. I use Arduino IDE 1.8.19 to Upload the sketch. Programming is done through a 3X4 Keypad. User enters a 4-digit code to gain access to any combination of floors The system controlls 7 relays that can be energised either by entering the user code or by pressing one of the 6 remote switches.

What I want to do is be able to adjust the amount of seconds from my Direct 1000 Keypad on the machine.
