Translate English letter to German

Hi there, I'm writing a letter in German to my aunty and a family I'm friends with- both letters are very similar so I'm using some of the paragraphs twice, but sorry if the translation gets a bit repetitive! :)

Letter 1.

Dear xx,

hope all is well with you. Firstly I would like to apologise for not writing for so long- I will try my best to write more regularly, and you have always been close to my thoughts. This is just a little letter to let you know how we’re all going..

Petra is well- she has recently returned from a holiday to Tahiti and French Polynesia, where she was doing a casual job as a port lecturer on a cruise ship. She really enjoys this sort of work as she gets paid to visit exotic destinations aboard a luxury ship ☺

She also spends time growing vegetables at the local community garden, walks our pet dog Charlie, and volunteers once a week at a charity shop.

Nicky has been very busy lately- she’s studying and working as a waitress, but she really enjoys having a full schedule. Currently she’s studying Commerce/Arts, and next semester she’s going to study abroad as an exchange student in George Washington University in Washington DC. She’s looking forward to this new opportunity and luckily my dad and I will be going over to the USA to visit her in December. I’ve never visited mainland USA so I’m looking forward to visiting all the sites I’ve seen on TV and going shopping at half the prices we pay in Australia ☺

John’s going good- he’s very healthy and goes swimming every morning. He also volunteers on Thursdays at the Royal Botanic Gardens, cycles around Sydney, and goes to a weekly pottery class with me in Bondi. At the moment he’s working on a Bonsai pot and I’m making some decorative bowls and a vase- it’s a very relaxing activity and I like that you can create useful artworks to use at home. I moved out of home just over a year ago so I’m still collecting things to make my place look more cosy- I’d like to take a painting course in the future to make some art to decorate my home.

I’m going well- currently I’m taking a break for a semester from university, as Science is a very challenging and intensive course. I spend my time working at a pharmacy, which is quite enjoyable as all my colleagues are women around my age so we have a good chat while we’re working ☺ My science studies help me to understand the role of active ingredients of the vitamins and medicines at work, and my job has made me more interested in continuing my studies as I can see real life applications to the theory I’m studying.

Letter 2.

Dear Family xx, hope you are all going well. I just wanted to send a little letter to let you know how my family and I are going..

My sister’s well- currently she’s busy studying commerce at university and working as a waitress. Next semester she’s going to study as an exchange student in Washington DC, so she’s really excited about that. My Dad and I are going to visit USA in December, which I’m looking forward to- I’ve never visited mainland USA so I can’t wait to check out all the places I’ve seen on TV and go shopping for half the prices we pay in Australia ☺
